Adobe Application Manager (formerly Adobe Download Manager) was an application program created by Adobe Systems in 2010 and then discontinued in 2013. It was preceded by Adobe Creative Cloud in 2013.
History
Adobe Application Manager was introduced in 2010 as part of the Adobe Creative Suite 5 family. It was successor to the Adobe Download Manager, released in 2001, and then discontinued in 2004. Since then, Adobe released the last version of Adobe Application Manager, was CS6, as a part of the Creative Suite 6 family. Adobe then discontinued in 2013 and migrate to the Adobe Creative Cloud products.
Adobe Download Assistant
Adobe Download Assistant is a small, lightweight application used with Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop Elements, and Adobe Premiere Elements trial product downloads to improve download reliability. After the trial software is downloaded, It was introduced in 2010 as a seperate product from the successor to the Adobe Download Manager, and then discontinued in 2012. Adobe Download Assistant is available for the Microsoft Windows that requires an installation package for the Adobe AIR application.
Discontinuation
Support for the Adobe Application Manager software ended as of 2013 and instead recommends users migrate to the Adobe Creative Cloud products.
