software

Billease (formerly BillEase) is a financial technology application that offers affordable installment plans for online shopping at leading merchants. Its users can apply for a credit line up to P40,000, pay low interest rates, and pay at different stores with BillEase.[1] It was released on Android on January 15, 2019 for the Philippines.[2] The app currently serves over 10,000 merchants directly and more than 600,000 QRPh-enabled locations nationwide.[3]

Its developer, First Digital Finance Corporation, is a financial technology company building disruptive and innovative products in retail credit for Southeast Asia, with 250+ employees across five cities and across two continents.[1]

History

Billease was launched as BillEase by First Digital Finance Corporation (FDFC) in 2017, with shopping marketplace Lazada as its first merchant partner.[4]

In January 2022, with its standing as one of the country’s biggest BNPL providers, FDFC announced that it had raised an $11 million Series B.[4] The round was led by BurdaPrincipal Investments, the growth capital arm of Hubert Burda Media. Other participants included Centauri, a joint investment vehicle between MDI Ventures and KB Investment, and Tamaz Georgadze, CEO and co-founder of Raisin DS.[4]

In September 2024, FDFC announced a Series C fundraising round, led by TPG’s The Rise Fund, together with existing investor Burda Principal Investment, which the company said will help sustain its growth and expand its product offerings.[5] Billease’s annual revenue run rate (ARR) had reached $90 million as of the month prior.

Features

Loans

Billease offers loans for up to P40,000, payable either through a designated payday or through a series of user-selected installments.[1] Its BNPL is also available through payment gateways Xendit, Paynamics, 2C2P, Dragonpay and BUX.[4] The app also gives merchants customizable installment plans, letting them determine BNPL repayment terms of 10 to 30 days for smaller purchases, payment in four installments or monthly payments for larger purchases, and if those loans will be interest-free or not.[4]

Balance top-up

The app provides top-ups for digital wallets like GCash, PayMaya, Coins.ph, GrabPay and Shopee Pay, as well as mobile phone and gaming credits.[6][4]

Shopping discounts

Billease offers Deals, allowing Filipino shoppers to browse and purchase discounted items from trusted and accredited online merchants directly through the Billease app, using their existing Billease credit limit or installment plans.[3]
